More about the founder of Green Choices Consulting

GCC founder Billi Roberti embraced the “renewable energy state of mind long before she and Ira Zucker completed a total green gut rehab of their Huntington Station, NY home. It was rebuilt to ENERGY STAR® and LEED standards in 2010. They weatherized it, and installed ENERGY STAR® appliances, rooftop solar, and a geothermal heat pump system. They charge their electric vehicle at home and recently bought a heat pump clothes dryer.

As a result of her research and renovation experience, Billii became a founding member of the New York Geothermal Energy Organization, was appointed to the Town of Huntington Advisory Committee on Energy Efficiency, Renewables and Sustainability (ACEERS), and started Green Choices Consulting in 2012. She is currently a member of NY-GEO’s Policy Advisory Board.

Her renewable energy advocacy includes working with the Renewable Heat Now campaign to successfully pass state legislation for establishing geothermal heat pump income tax credits, for modernizing building codes and appliance standards to improve energy efficiency, for developing utility thermal energy networks, and for initiating new all-electric construction in 2026. Currently, she is lobbying as a volunteer with Renewable Heat Now for the NY Home Energy Affordable Transition (HEAT) Act (S2016A/A4592A) to end natural gas expansion subsidies and to plan for an equitable transition off gas.
